Flow Roof Tools Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 October 2026.
Who we are
Flow Roof Tools is published under the FlowByAdapt brand by Ambler Figur Enterprises Limited, New Zealand. Our business contact address is Finman Financial Service, 44 Ihakara Street, Paraparaumu. Contact hello@flowbyadapt.com for privacy questions or requests.
This policy covers the standalone Flow Roof Tools add-in and our associated product support. Autodesk, Microsoft and the payment provider publish separate notices for their services. Browsing our website or the Flow Help website is separate from the add-in's local model processing.
Information used in Revit
The add-in reads the selections, elements, geometry, materials and project settings needed for the roof command you request. Generated outlines, caps and zones are stored in your Revit document. The add-in does not upload model geometry, project files, project names or element data to us or to the licensing service.
Model information remains subject to your own storage, backup and sharing arrangements. Uninstalling the add-in does not delete elements it created in your models.
Autodesk account and licence verification
Licensing-enabled builds send the Autodesk internal account ID exposed by Revit and the Roof Tools Marketplace App ID to Autodesk's HTTPS entitlement service. Autodesk also receives ordinary connection information, such as the source IP address. We use the response to determine whether the signed-in account has access to the purchased or trial offering. The add-in does not receive your Autodesk password or payment-card details.
The account ID, App ID and access result are processed in memory. Successful results may be cached in the running component for up to 15 minutes and are lost when Revit closes. No persistent licence cache is written to disk. A new check requires an internet connection when no valid short cache is available. Unrestricted Beta-mode builds do not send entitlement requests; explicitly labelled internal licensing-test builds do.
Diagnostics and help
The add-in does not automatically upload usage analytics, advertising identifiers, crash reports, support logs or models.
Copy support information places product versions, the Revit year, access-status messages and public contact details on your clipboard only when you choose it. It excludes the Autodesk internal account ID, model contents and user file paths. Clipboard history and retention are controlled by your operating system and settings.
Choosing Help, pressing F1 for contextual help or selecting an external link opens your normal browser or email application. These actions do not automatically send a support email or attach a model. The destination service may process information according to its own privacy notice.
Purchases and support
Autodesk Marketplace and its payment provider handle checkout. If they make customer or order information available to us, we use it to administer purchases, investigate access problems, provide support, process refunds and meet legal obligations. We do not ask you to send passwords or payment-card details.
When you email us, we receive your email address, message and any details or files you choose to include. Support correspondence and attachments are kept in our Microsoft 365 email system. Necessary temporary working copies may be made to investigate a reported problem and removed when no longer needed.
Please send only the information needed to explain the problem. Use redacted screenshots or a small, non-confidential sample model where possible. Do not send confidential client files or other people's personal information unless needed, agreed with us and authorised by your organisation.
Use, disclosure and service providers
We use information to perform requested tool operations, verify access, answer support or privacy enquiries, administer transactions and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information or use support enquiries for unsolicited marketing.
Microsoft 365 provides our support email service. Autodesk operates the Marketplace and entitlement service. The payment provider handles transactions according to its own terms. We may disclose necessary information to these providers or where legally required. Where we engage a provider to process information on our behalf, we require safeguards consistent with this policy and applicable privacy law.
Provider processing may take place outside New Zealand. We will apply applicable requirements for overseas disclosure and appropriate contractual safeguards where required. Autodesk and payment providers also have independent responsibilities for information they control.
Provider notices:
Autodesk: https://www.autodesk.com/company/legal-notices-trademarks/privacy-statement
Microsoft: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/privacy/privacystatement
Payment-provider details are shown at Marketplace checkout.
Retention and deletion
The add-in's temporary verification cache is described above. Model elements remain under your control. Clipboard information remains subject to your device's settings.
We retain support correspondence only for as long as reasonably needed to resolve and follow up enquiries, handle related disputes or transactions and meet legal obligations. We remove attachments and temporary model copies when no longer needed for those purposes. Purchase, refund and accounting records may need to be kept for applicable legal record-keeping periods.
We review information we hold and delete or anonymise it when it is no longer needed. Deleted email may remain temporarily in the email system's recovery or backup arrangements. Provider-held records follow the provider's applicable retention processes; we cannot directly erase records independently controlled by Autodesk or a payment provider.
Your choices and rights
You can choose not to send support files or stop using the add-in. A licensing-enabled build cannot grant access without the required Autodesk verification. There is no separate optional telemetry feature to disable.
Contact hello@flowbyadapt.com to request access to or correction of personal information we hold, ask for deletion where applicable, withdraw any optional consent, or raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify your identity. Legal obligations and legitimate unresolved matters may limit deletion. We will explain any applicable limitation.
For information independently controlled by Autodesk or a payment provider, you may need to contact that provider directly. If we cannot resolve a privacy concern, you can contact New Zealand's Office of the Privacy Commissioner at https://www.privacy.org.nz/ or another relevant authority where applicable.
Changes
We may update this policy to reflect product or operational changes. The published policy will show its effective or updated date. Material changes will be reflected in the notice supplied with the add-in.
